Documentary that focuses on many never-before-seen solutions designed to slow down our escalating environmental crisis.
Film 4 Climate – Partnerships for Survival
It has been in the last century, along with the hand of "development" in its methods of production, excessive growth of the population, creation of urban centers, abandonment, and overexploitation of the countryside, as well as the significant advances of science, that the world has changed radically in almost every aspect.
The industrial revolution brought the idea of production and progress as never seen before in human history, where transportation and connectivity became fundamental to expand the industrial capabilities, as well as the growth of the main cities, that throughout the world received waves of migrants searching to improve rural life, a perception that was broadened from the concept that links prosperity with money and that now brings us a furious and irresponsible longing for consumption.
Thus, for more than 100 years, the human with the idea of progress as their flag and keynote speech has overexploited natural resources, ending with more than 60% of animal and sea species caused either by the devastation of their habitats or illegal and trophy hunting. It has modified ecosystems, polluted fresh and seawater, changed the climates, and with it, it also transfigured its social and cultural relations. Redefining the identity links that maintained a balance between the human footprint and its impact with the environment, practically erasing the ancestral knowledge that safeguarded this relationship, until arriving at the catastrophe that we are in and for which, bit by bit, we have fewer solutions.
Fortunately, there are still people, groups, and communities that fight every day against the rapidly increasing catastrophe. Through methods and ideas, they do not only focus on changing the human footprint in the environment, but they also work to regain the balance between man and their ecosystem, from a perspective that could draw a new cultural path.
With four extraordinary and diverse documentary proposals, Film 4 Climate introduces diverse landscapes, unusual characters that fight against climate change, flights and migrations, as well as interesting proposals that tell us, that still, all is not lost.
