FICGG AND UNIAT CALL FOR THE SECOND EDITION OF FICGAMES: PLAYING STORIES

Registration closes on Friday, February 14, 2025.

The Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) and the University of Advanced Technologies (UNIAT) have launched the call for the second edition of FICGames:Playing stories, a space focused on the development of video games with narrative elements.  

FICGames is a collaboration between FICG and UNIAT with the intention of encouraging and promoting the video game development industry that have narrative elements within their game mechanics, regardless of genre or type.

The programs that FICGAMES is opening in 2025 are:

  • FICGames Pitch 2025
  • FICGames Play Test 2025

FICGames Pitch 2025
As part of the Pitch Guadalajara program of the 40th edition of FICG, participants will have the opportunity to present their Pitch Deck and trailer to industry specialists. The requirements to apply are as follows:

  • A Pitch Deck must be submitted.
  • The pitch or trailer should reflect the narrative elements of the game.
  • Space for the video game pitch is exclusively for participants from Latin America.
  • Participants must be able to physically present themselves at the event, which will be held in Guadalajara, Jalisco, from June 6 to 14, 2025.
  • Space for the video game pitch is limited to five pitches.

FICGames Play Test 2025
Participants will be able to exhibit their demo and have it tested by the public and industry members attending FICG.

  • Projects in demo stage will be accepted.
  • Playable demo: The demo must be functional, with victory and defeat conditions, and must have an easy way to restart the game (menu or dedicated button).
  • Games must have narrative elements, even if not fully implemented. Winners will have a physical space for event attendees to play their demos.
  • The number of spaces is limited to ten projects.
