Sinopsis
With the words "if you cry, I will kill you" ringing in his ears, Alma and her children are killed in the armed conflict in Guatemala. Thirty years later, a criminal case is opened against Enrique, a retired general who oversaw the genocide. But the judgment is declared void and he is acquitted, and the spirit of La Llorona is released to roam the world like a lost soul among the living. At night, Enrique begins to hear her cry. His wife and son believe that he is suffering from Alzheimer's related dementia. They do not suspect that their new housekeeper, Alma, is there to inflict the revenge that failed the trial.
Director
JAYRO BUSTAMANTE
His professional career began in advertising making several commercials. He founded his own production company, La Casa de Producción, in Guatemala. With his first feature film, Ixcanul, he established himself as a director, winning a Silver Bear at the Berlinale and more than 50 awards at international festivals. In 2017, as a screenwriter, director and producer, he made his second feature, Temblores.
