Guillermina Fernández is an Argentinian photographer who has lived in Guadalajara for more than 10 years. Her work as a photographer has several approaches. Specialized in portraits, she mostly works as photographer for the fashion and entertainment industry within the local scene. Highlights in her work include black and white photography and her record of the musical scene in Guadalajara while she has lived there.
One of the most versatile photographers in the medium, he has worked with some of the most recognized designers, stylists and models in Mexico, such as Nayeli de Alba, Juka, Alvaro Valadez, Luis Bolívar, Daniel Orozco and Pablo Villalpando. He has captured the sensuality of Benito Santos, the minimalism and modernity of Julia y Renata, the color of Carlos Pineda, but he also finds the balance between the commercial and the editorial in his work with Pink Revolver and Stop. He has been published in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, 192, Quien, Red Carpet and Hunted, as well as international publications such as Vogue Italy, Kaltblut Germany, Vulkan Canada and Vanidad Spain.
Photographer of Swedish descent and, for a while now, happily Mexican. Her necessity to take photos was born out of her bad memory: documenting helps her remember. Her passion for portraits comes from a profound curiosity for people. Her other great passion is music, she doesn’t know what she would do without Ane Brun, Lhasa de Sela, Antony and the Johnsons, Lajkó Feliz, Franch rap, 70’s funk, Jussy Björling, Novalima, Lola Beltrán, Jan Johansson and Linton Kwesi Johnson.
