Synopsis
Awakening from an ancestral dream, Mayan artist Edgar Calel performs a ritual in the São Paulo Biennial building seeking to make an offering to his ancestors. Between dreams and memories, his spiritual path leads him to embody his power animal.
Director
Edgar Calel was born in Guatemala. In his artistic work he seeks the translation of the Maya-Kaqchiquel cosmovision into other contemporary languages and investigates the practices of his community.
Fernando Pereira dos Santos is a documentarist and producer. He has directed Mapuche - Gente da Terra (2012), Admiração de João Garganta (2016). In 2022 he launched XAR - Obsidian Dream.
