FAQ DOCULAB: DOCUMENTARY LABORATORY

DocuLab opens its call to directors from or residents of any of the nineteen countries belonging to the Ibero-American region.

The participating countries are: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela, in addition to the three of the Iberian Peninsula: Andorra, Spain and Portugal.

Although Puerto Rico does not belong to the Ibero-American Summit, DocuLab also opens its call to filmmakers from this state, due to the brotherhood of language that unites us with them.

This invitation is addressed to those who have a documentary in post-production stage and wish to show it to specialists, with the aim of receiving feedback, advice and having the possibility of participating in other festivals and receiving support for the conclusion of the project.

To register for DocuLab, it is necessary to complete and send the information requested in the form that can be found on the FICG Industry page.

The entire registration process is done online.

To participate in DocuLab it is essential to speak Spanish and it is advisable to be fluent in English, as some of the activities will be taught in this language.

The selection of participants will be decided by a committee, whose members will be announced once the results are published.

The committee will evaluate the creativity and narrative proposal of the registered documentary, as well as the experience of those interested. DocuLab has limited space, so refusal to participate does not determine the quality of the application submitted.
