FICG Industria offers several programs covering different types of projects:

 

Guadalajara Film Market: a space to create ties, do business and participate in industry activities.

 

DocuLab: Documentary Lab: for documentary projects in the editing stage.

 

Co-Production Meeting: to foster direct contact between representatives of Ibero-American feature film projects in development and audiovisual industry professionals.

 

Guadalajara Construye: presentation of feature films in search of financing and distribution.

 

Episode 0. Series in Development: promotes direct contact between Ibero-American series in the development stage with professionals from the audiovisual industry.

 

Talents Guadalajara: Intensive meeting of film professionalization activities for emerging talents from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Focused on acting, animation, camera, film criticism, directing, screenwriting, sound, production and distribution.

 

Pitch Guadalajara: four days of public pitches, (film schools, fantasy genre, publishing houses, narrative videogames) where the winners receive support to make a teaser and culminate the development of the project.

 

FICGames: At Industria FICG we armed ourselves with headset and controller and immersed ourselves in this world of pixels and artificial lights to explore with the experts the world of audiovisual narrative in video games.

The calls for applications are usually open approximately from October to December. We recommend that you keep an eye on our social networks and official announcements for updates on the exact dates of the calls.

Is the DocuLab program freely available?

 

No, the DocuLab program is by invitation only.

 

What are the requirements to participate in DocuLab?

 

Speak Spanish (essential) and be fluent in English (recommended).

 

Be a citizen of one of the Latin American countries or have residency documentation or second nationality in those countries.

 

Present a documentary at the first or second cut stage, with English subtitles.

 

What is the selection process at DocuLab?

 

The selection is made by a selection committee made up of specialists in the field. The results are communicated to the interested parties by e-mail.

 

What benefits do the projects selected in DocuLab obtain?

 

Selected projects receive several benefits, such as the opportunity to present their project to national and international professionals, accommodation in Guadalajara for the duration of DocuLab and free accreditation with access to activities and conferences of Industria y Mercado Iberoamericano de Cine.

Which projects can participate in the Co-Production Meeting?

 

Ibero-American projects in the development stage, whether fiction, documentary or animation feature films, with a finished script, at least 20 percent financing secured, and an estimated duration of more than 70 minutes, are eligible to participate.

 

How many projects will be selected to participate in the Co-Production Meeting?

 

A maximum of 15 Ibero-American projects with the best chances of obtaining financing will be selected.

 

What are the benefits for the projects selected for the Co-Production Meeting?

 

The selected projects will have the opportunity to present to national and international professionals, accommodation for four nights, free accreditation for two representatives, among other benefits.

 

What is the selection process for projects for the Co-Production Meeting?

 

This program has a selection committee made up of professionals with extensive audiovisual experience, who are in charge of selecting the projects through a reading and evaluation process.



What kind of films can participate in Guadalajara Construye?

 

Seven exclusively fiction films in work in progress will be received. work in progressthat is to say, in search of financing for its completion, with at least a first editing cut and a length between 70 and 120 minutes.

 

What are the benefits for the films selected for Guadalajara Construye?

 

Benefits include the possibility of a screening as part of FICG's Industry activities, publication in the Industry Catalog, free Industry accreditation for two representatives, the possibility of accommodation for three nights, among others.

 

What happens if a film is selected to participate in Guadalajara Construye?

 

You must confirm your attendance at FICG. Otherwise, your participation will be considered cancelled and another proposal will be selected.

 

Are Guadalajara Construye's projections public?

 

No, Guadalajara Construye screenings are held behind closed doors in front of allies and program participants.

What kind of projects can participate in Episode 0?

 

Proposals will be received for fiction, animation and documentary series not yet filmed, with at least 10 percent of the funding secured and a project dossier in accordance with the requirements of the call.

 

Are there any costs associated with participation in Episode 0?

 

There is no cost to participate in the program, but travel and food expenses to Guadalajara will be paid by the selected projects.

 

Who are the members of the Episode 0 project selection committee?

 

The selection committee is made up of members of the audiovisual industry, appointed by mutual agreement by the Festival organizers.

 

What are the benefits of the projects selected in Episode 0?

 

The selected projects will obtain several benefits, among them:

Opportunity to present to industry professionals in one-on-one sessions.

Publication of project information in the Industry Catalog.

Free industry accreditation for two representatives per project.

Possibility of accommodation for 4 nights in a double room per project.

Which countries are invited to participate in Talents GDL?

 

Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean (except Venezuela and Colombia).

 

Can I apply to Talents GDL if I do not belong to the countries invited to the meeting?

 

Yes, there are two ways in which a person who does not live in or belong to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean can participate.

 

  1. Thanks to the agreement we have with EICTV, we can accept active students or graduates of no more than five years to be part of the meeting, without the need to be citizens of the countries invited.

 

  1. To have dual nationality and that one of them belongs to one of the countries called.

 

Why are Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean specifically invited to Talents GDL?

 

It is a strategic decision agreed with the Berlinale Talents, the objective of the Talents label around the world is to promote and strengthen all existing cinematographies. 

 

For this reason, the American continent has been divided into two blocks: the first block covers Talents GDL (Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean) and the second block covers Talents Buenos Aires (South America).

 

This is aimed at nurturing and strengthening the developing film industries of countries with fewer options to grow their industries.

 

Can I reapply if I have already been selected once in Talents GDL?

 

You cannot reapply to the Studios, however, if you are a director or producer and have a feature film project in development you can be part of the Talent Project Market.

 

What are the benefits for the selected Talents GDL?

 

If selected, you will have access to a free Talents accreditation that gives you access to screenings, workshops, lectures, conferences, masterclasses and consulting services; integrate your profile into the official catalog of the Industry and Market area; the possibility of accessing benefits such as food and lodging during the duration of the meeting.

 

Does Talents Guadalajara offer transportation support?

 

No, unfortunately we do not have a budget to cover transportation costs for those selected. However, the Festival offers transportation from the airport to the hotel where you will be staying.

 

Does Talents Guadalajara get visas for those selected?

 

Talents Guadalajara cannot obtain visas or immigration permits, however, we support those selected with official invitation letters and information to facilitate immigration procedures.

Who can participate in Pitch Guadalajara? 

 

Pitch Guadalajara is open to creators and developers from diverse sectors, such as film schools, publishers, video game developers as well as directors and producers. Participants must have innovative and promising projects within these areas to present during the public pitches.

 

What if my school wants to participate?

 

To participate, your school must apply through its liaison department with the industry department, by sending an email to info@ficg.com.


Which publishers participate in Pitch Literario?

 

In previous editions, publishers such as Planeta, Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, Paraíso Perdido, among others, have participated.

Who can participate in the Fantastic Genre Pitch?

 

Directors and producers with feature film projects in development within the fantasy genre.

 

What are the requirements to register a project in Pitch Guadalajara de Género fantástico?

 

You must send a dossier including project data, synopsis, treatment, director and producer biofilmographies, budget cover, project status, timeline, additional information and main purpose of participation.

 

What are the requirements to participate in FICGames Pitch?

 

Submit a Pitch Deck that includes detailed information about the video game project, such as the story, game mechanics, characters, setting, among other relevant aspects.

 

Include the game's trailer, which allows industry specialists to have a clear idea of the visual and narrative proposal of the project.

 

The game must be at least at the demo stage, which implies having a playable version of the game with basic functionalities implemented.

 

A playable demo of the game is also requested, so that evaluators can directly experience the gameplay and narrative elements of the project.

 

It is important that both the pitch and the trailer clearly reflect the narrative elements of the game, as this is the main focus of the program.
