OFFICIAL COMPETITION

The official competition sections of the Guadalajara International Film Festival include nine categories: the Mezcal Award, Ibero-American Fiction Feature Film, Ibero-American Documentary Feature Film, the Maguey Award, Made in Jalisco, the Socio-Environmental Film Award, International Animated Feature Film, the Rigo Mora Award, and Ibero-American Short Film.

OFFICIAL SELECTION

One of the primary goals of the Guadalajara International Film Festival is to broaden its scope and ensure that its lineup includes films with diverse profiles and origins. As a result, the FICG’s official selection includes both mainstream entertainment and more complex films.Each year, thematic programs are curated featuring standout productions from the past year; thus, upcoming box office hits and award-winning films from the world’s most prestigious festivals are taken into account.

One of the most notable aspects of the Guadalajara International Film Festival is its commitment to recognizing the contributions of the many professionals involved in filmmaking, who make it possible for audiences to become part of this world. In this spirit, each year the Festival honors the careers of national and international film professionals for their valuable contributions to the art of cinema.
