17 DOCULAB: LABORATORIO DE DOCUMENTALES

• The Ibero-America countries are Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, and the Iberian Peninsula: Andorra, Spain, and Portugal. Although Puerto Rico does not legally belong to the Ibero-American Region, DocuLab opens its call also to filmmakers of this free state, for the brotherhood of language that links us with them.

• Los países participantes son: Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Perú, Paraguay, República Dominicana, Uruguay y Venezuela, además de los tres de la península Ibérica: Andorra, España y Portugal. Aunque Puerto Rico no pertenece legalmente a la Cumbre Iberoamericana, DocuLab abre su convocatoria también a cineastas de éste estado libre, por la hermandad de lenguaje que nos une a ellos.

• Residence Documents or second citizenship from any of these countries are also allowed only in case they presented the right documentation to prove it in the selection process.

• Films that have participated or have been selected to more than one Work in Progress laboratory prior to DocuLab won't be accepted.

To submit we require the following information:

• To create a profile in the Eventival link https://vp.eventival.com/ficg/2025 to access the submission form. The form has to be properly and fully filled in.

• A password protected link (NO WETRANSFER) to the film with English subtitles for the selection process (Mandatory for submission).

IMPORTANT: the version of the film you are submitting must be at least 60 minutes long, nor exceeding 90 minutes. Those submissions whose link is either a teaser/trailer or do not comply with these regulations, are automatically disqualified.

• Synopsis, as well as a brief explanation of the stage and the necessities of your project to be finalised.

• Three stills of the film, 300dpi.

• All those submissions with false information regarding the nationality or the stage of the editing process, as well as those incomplete forms, will be discarded.

• DocuLab will only take in consideration films in the first or second cut of editing. Films in the latter stages of edition, in post-production or finalised, won't be accepted.

• The submission is individual. In case a selected film is a co-direction, DocuLab will only invite the submitting director. If more than one director wishes to attend, the expenses will be covered by the representative of the project.

• It is a requirement and responsibility of the attendants, to hold a passport, visa or any other document to enter Mexico.

• In case of being selected, you must send an online digital file of the film to trafico@ficg.mx (Vimeo, Wetransfer, google drive, Myairbridge), as well as to two (2) copies on Blu-Ray to the FICG offices; both, the digital file, as well as the Blu-Ray copies, must have English subtitles. A deadline to send these materials will be announced once the selection process is completed.

• The shipping expenses of the exhibition copies are the responsibility of the submitter and it should be made through a private parcel company.

• The submission to DocuLab is free of charge.

• The selected films are committed to inserting the DocuLab and FICG’s logos in the final cut of the film as well as to including the credits accordingly.

• The selected films will have access to the diverse awards offered by DocuLab, both for post-production and mobility.
