The Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) opens the call to participate in the Official Competition of its 41st edition, which will take place from Friday, April 17 to Saturday, April 25, 2026.
FICG invites producers and filmmakers from Mexico, Ibero-America and other regions of the world to register their films in the following categories:
OFFICIAL COMPETITION
Feature films
Works completed between 2025 and 2026, with a minimum duration of 60 minutes and having their Mexican premiere within the framework of FICG 41 will be considered.
Sections:
- Mezcal Award: Mexican fiction and documentary feature films.
- Ibero-American Fiction Feature Film: productions from Latin America, Spain and Portugal.
- Ibero-American Feature Documentary: documentaries from Latin America, Spain and Portugal.
- Maguey Award: international fiction and documentary feature films with queer themes related to the LGBTQ+ community.
- International Animated Feature Film: international animation productions in any technique.
- Made in Jalisco: fiction, documentary or animation feature films produced in Jalisco or directed by Jalisco filmmakers.
- Socio-environmental Film Award: international fiction and documentary feature films that address environmental, justice, human rights or urbanization issues.
Short films
Works completed between 2025 and 2026 will be considered, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes (including credits) and that have their Mexican premiere within the framework of FICG 41.
Sections:
- Ibero-American Short Film: Mexican and Ibero-American fiction or documentary short films.
- Rigo Mora Award: international animation short films in any technique.
- Made in Jalisco: short fiction, documentary or animation films produced in Jalisco or made by Jalisco filmmakers.
