As part of the celebration of the 40th edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), the exhibitions "Os Demónios do Meu Avô" and "Soy Frankelda" were inaugurated to pay tribute to the first animated films, Portuguese and Mexican respectively, made in stop motion.
On behalf of FICG40, Estrella Araiza, general director of FICG, and Guillemo Gómez Mata, president of the FICG Board of Trustees, welcomed the exhibition and spoke of the smooth and efficient collaboration with the representatives of the Portuguese delegation. Also present were the Portuguese ambassador to Mexico, Manuel Carvalho, and the director of Os Demónios do Meu Avô, Nuno Beato.
The exhibition is composed of original pieces used in the making of Os Demónios do Meu Avô, from characters to fragments of the film's key sets. Also included are figures from Soy Frankelda, creating a visual dialogue between two animated worlds that share the same technique.
Both exhibitions can be visited at the Museum of Environmental Sciences during the days of FICG40 activities. As a complement, there is also the artistic installation "Portugal is Art", which invites you to discover the art that inhabits every street, look, texture and more experiences of the Iberian country.
