Socio-environmental Cinema Award

Organized by the Museum of Environmental Sciences of the Centro Cultural Universitario and the Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara, this award includes international narrative and documentary feature films that explore the complex relationships that transform nature and are associated with processes of justice, human rights and urbanization. A Mayahuel statuette is awarded for the Best Socio-Environmental Film.

Previously the Socio-Environmental Film Showcase, the curation of this section has included winning films in the Green Film Network, the international network that brings together 32 environmental film festivals from around the world.
